Presented by: Ross Wilson & The Peaceniks
Ross Wilson is hitting the road with his all-star band The Peaceniks to celebrate over “50 Years of Hits” including all the Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock favourites you’d expect along with the latest offering from an almost 6-decade career, tracks from his latest EP on Bloodlines Records, “She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time”, and everything in between. With no less than 26 ARIA Top 40 hits to his credit as a singer, songwriter and producer, Ross Wilson is one of Australia’s most awarded, respected, and well-known artists! From the legendary band Daddy Cool whose number one anthem “Eagle Rock” and debut album "Daddy Who?" smashed all previous sales records in Australia an astounding 50 years ago in 1971, to the 1977 formation of Mondo Rock, delivering 80’s hits ‘Cool World’, ‘State of The Heart’, ‘Chemistry’, ‘No Time’, and ‘Come Said The Boy’ and into the 21st century as a solo performer, Wilson has never been out of the limelight. His latest release in 2023 “She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time” is a modern-day tragicomedy in the blues genre. Twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, Wilson’s live performances are legendary. Ross Wilson will be supported by Sam Fletcher. Indie folk, alt country and rock performer with passion and integrity are the signature sounds of young songwriter Sam Fletcher. Influenced by the acoustic greats of the ’60s and ’70s, and the folk songs of old, Sam’s acoustic music features skilful acoustic guitar and smooth vocals. On the other hand, his Rolling Stones inspired rock is characterised by singing guitar riffs and charismatic solos, infused with Sam’s distinctive and fresh ‘surf’ vibe. It is this blend of roots and vibrant, youthful optimism that lends an old-soul maturity to Sam’s approach and produces his rare and magnetising performance style. Over recent years Sam has released two Eps and performed across Australia including appearances at festivals such as Newstead Live, St Albans, Bundanoon Folk and Tamworth as well as supporting acts like Alex Lloyd, Catherine Britt, Tim Freedman (The Whitlams), Daniel Champagne and more. Sam will be releasing his latest single ‘Big Thanks’ on Tuesday 4th February. Sam is honoured to be the senior category 2024 NSW Folk Federation Young Folk Artist of the Year. Sam has also been accepted into the CMAA Academy of Country Music Senior Class of 2025. “We knew we were seeing something special – a bright new star” – Greg Champion OAM
